Christine M. Klapeer is a transdisciplinary political theoriest anchored in the field of gender, queer, postcolonial and decolonial studies as well as in materialist feminisms. In her current research project "Queer(s) in Development" she is engaged with the ambivalent role of development institutions as new arenas for (transnational) LGBTIQ politics. Her third book "Queer G(r)ifts. Development Politics, LGBTIQ Rights and the Trajectories of Transnational queer Solidarity" is in preparation.
Christine received her doctorate in Political Theory/Political Science from the University of Innsbruck and has been teaching feminist political theory, gender, postcolonial, queer and critical development studies at various Universities, including the University of Vienna, the University of Bayreuth and the CEU in Budapest. She holds permanent lecturer position in Gender Studies at the Georg-August University of Goettingen.
